For the safety of patients and team members, we’ve designated certain centers as COVID-19 testing locations, and we’ve temporarily moved the location of select services for some centers. Regardless of where you visit us, you can feel confident knowing you’ll receive the same safe, quality, convenient care you’ve come to expect from us.

Centers Offering COVID-19 Testing 

Some of our centers have been designated as COVID-19 testing locations and are not currently providing urgent care services. Most of these centers offer drive-up testing,* allowing you to be screened and tested for COVID-19 without ever leaving your vehicle. However, select COVID-19 testing locations still require you to enter our centers. When you arrive at a testing location without an outdoor testing tent, you will notice signage on the doors that asks you to return to your vehicle and call the center. A MedExpress team member will complete a brief screening with you over the phone. If you meet the CDC-based screening criteria for COVID-19 testing, a team member will walk you through the next steps of your care.

If you do not meet the screening criteria for COVID-19 testing or you are seeking treatment for everyday illnesses and injuries, we will refer you to another nearby MedExpress center that is providing urgent care services for treatment and evaluation.

Centers Offering COVID-19 Testing and Urgent Care Services

Some MedExpress centers are providing COVID-19 testing in addition to our regular urgent care services. Most of these centers offer drive-up testing,* allowing you to be screened and tested for COVID-19 without ever leaving your vehicle. However, select locations will require you to enter our centers for COVID-19 testing. When you arrive at one of these locations, you will notice signage on the doors that asks you to return to your vehicle and call the center if you are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. A MedExpress team member will complete a brief screening with you over the phone. If you meet the CDC-based screening criteria for COVID-19 testing, a team member will meet you at the door of the center, provide you with a face mask and take you into an isolated part of the center. If you do not meet the screening criteria for COVID-19, our team will walk you through the next steps of your care and take you to a dedicated portion of the center for urgent care treatment.

Centers Offering Urgent Care Services

Even though things are changing every day, our care is constant. Some of our centers continue to offer urgent care services only. From pink eye and sore throats to cuts, scrapes, and sprains ─ we’re here for you, and that will never change. Just walk in 8-8 every day and our warm, welcoming medical team will get you back to feeling good. However, please be aware that if your symptoms meet the CDC-based screening criteria for COIVD-19 testing, you may be referred to a nearby designated COVID-19 testing location for further evaluation and testing, if deemed necessary.

Services for Employers and Employees during COVID-19

For the health and safety of your employees and our team members, MedExpress has temporarily discontinued the following employer health services:

  • Respiratory fit testing
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Breath alcohol testing

Keeping Our Centers Safe – Always

As a valued patient, we remain incredibly grateful for the trust you place in us when you allow us to care for you and your family. That’s why it is so important to us that we share the steps we are taking to protect the health and well-being of MedExpress patients and team members amid the risk posed by COVID-19.

What Are We Doing?

  • MedExpress is diligently tracking guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) and remain in frequent contact with local health departments across the country to make sure our policies and procedures meet or exceed guidelines.
  • In alignment with CDC recommendations, all of our team members are wearing masks.
  • We also have processes in place to promptly identify, mask and isolate patients that have cold-like symptoms to further minimize exposure.
  • We’ve enhanced our cleaning and disinfecting practices.
  • We’re carefully monitoring our inventory and supplies to ensure our teams have what they need to provide care safely.
  • We’re assessing the health of every team member several times throughout the day, starting at the beginning of each shift.
