Atlantic Health System, an integrated health care delivery system, and MedExpress, a neighborhood health care provider, are collaborating to coordinate care between MedExpress’ 11 neighborhood medical centers in northern New Jersey and Atlantic Health System’s extensive clinically integrated network of physicians, hospitals and other care sites.
The jointly owned centers will enable MedExpress’ urgent care patients to seek care at an Atlantic Health System facility if additional or more advanced care is needed. In turn, MedExpress locations can serve as an extension of the services available within Atlantic Health System, as MedExpress neighborhood medical centers offer a broad scope of walk-in urgent care, employer health services, and basic wellness and prevention services.
This new relationship aims to serve the best interests of patients and the community, and affirms Atlantic Health System’s and MedExpress’ shared commitment to community-based, patient-centered care. As part of Atlantic Health System’s mission to deliver high-quality, innovative and personalized health care, this partnership is another example of how the system is taking care beyond the walls of its hospitals and into the community. The collaboration also aligns with MedExpress’ mission to enhance quality, increase patient access and convenience, lower costs and create exceptional patient experiences.
“We are very pleased to partner with MedExpress to provide high-quality care and increased access for all of those who depend on us in the local communities we serve,” said Amy Perry, SVP, Integrated Care Delivery, CEO Hospital Division, Atlantic Health System. “The Atlantic Health System and MedExpress Urgent Care Centers provide an important addition to our continuum of care.”
“We are collaborating with Atlantic Health System hospitals and physicians to better serve the community while increasing value for our patients and honoring patient choice,” said Gary Derk, vice president, MedExpress.
“Our partnership with Atlantic Health System will help ensure that patients receive the most appropriate care at the right setting at the right time. Our centers offer walk-in treatment seven days a week, 12 hours a day, for everyday illness and injury as well as more advanced services including X-rays, IVs, labs, minor surgery, stitches and treatment for broken bones, sprains and strains.”
