MedExpress Urgent Care, a neighborhood health care provider, will open two more urgent care centers in Texas this summer. The centers, at 1305 N. Highway 77 in Waxahachie and 3700 S. Cooper St. in Arlington will open July 18, and Aug. 1, respectively.

The Waxahachie center will offer free sports physicals to patients five and up July 18- Aug. 7 to mark the opening.

The Arlington and Waxahachie centers will be the 11th and 12th MedExpress locations in Texas, joining three existing Dallas-area centers in Fort Worth (S. Hulen St.), Little Elm and Dallas (Lake June Rd.). MedExpress has plans to open additional centers in Fort Worth and Irving later this summer and fall.

“The new Waxahachie and Arlington centers affirm our commitment to ensuring local patients, families and employees have access to patient-centered care that meets their needs and busy schedules,” said Ed Casaldi, Texas area manager of MedExpress.

“We look forward to opening our new Waxahachie and Arlington locations and to providing high-quality, convenient and affordable health care to the community – one patient at a time.”

The centers will care for people of all ages, providing urgent care, employer health services, and basic wellness and prevention services. Walk-in treatment is available for everyday illness and injury – including treatment for common summer injuries such as cuts, scrapes, rashes, bites, strings and burns – as well as more advanced services including X-rays, IVs, labs, minor surgery, stitches and treatment for broken bones, sprains and strains. Local employers can use MedExpress for employer health services that include workers’ compensation, injury care, pre- and ongoing employment screenings, physicals and regulatory exams. Basic wellness and prevention services available include sports physicals, routine physicals and immunizations to help local residents maintain good health.

The Waxahachie and Arlington centers will have multiple exam rooms, a procedure room and an X-ray suite. The centers will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with no appointment necessary. MedExpress accepts all major insurance plans and offers affordable pricing for people without insurance. The centers will be staffed by a full medical team that includes medical providers, radiologic technologists, nurses and customer service representatives. As a community health care partner, MedExpress believes strongly in the importance of working with fellow community health care providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. When necessary, MedExpress can help refer patients within the broader health care system, including referrals to specialists, primary care physicians and hospitals.
