MedExpress Urgent Care announces the opening of its new neighborhood medical center in Minnesota on Wednesday, June 7 in Duluth at 501 W. Central Entrance. As a gift to the community, the Duluth center will offer free sports physicals to patients ages 5 and up from June 7-20.

“MedExpress is committed to providing high-quality, convenient, patient-centric care to families, patients, and employees in Duluth,” said Joni Jennen, MedExpress Area Manager for Minnesota.

“From the moment a patient walks through our doors, we’re completely focused on exceeding their expectations and providing the best possible experience. We do this by delivering care one person and one relationship at a time. Our patients are at the center of everything we do,” Jennen said.

The new Duluth center will care for people of all ages, providing urgent care, employer health services, and basic wellness and prevention services. Walk-in treatment is available for everyday illness and injury, including more advanced services such as X-rays, IVs, labs, minor surgery, stitches, and treatment for broken bones, sprains, and strains. Local employers can use MedExpress for a host of employer health services including workers’ compensation, injury care, pre- and ongoing employment screenings, physicals, and regulatory exams. Basic wellness and prevention services offered at MedExpress include sports physicals, routine physicals, and immunizations to help Duluth patients maintain good health.

Open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with no appointment necessary, MedExpress accepts all major insurances and offers affordable pricing for those without insurance. The center will be staffed by a full medical team, which includes customer service representatives, nurses, medical providers, and radiologic technologists. As a community health care partner, MedExpress believes strongly in the importance of working with fellow community health care providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. When necessary, the Duluth team can help refer patients within the broader health care system, including referrals to specialists, primary care physicians, and hospitals.

Last September, MedExpress opened its first centers in Minnesota in Eden Prairie and Plymouth. Now with the opening of its center in Duluth, MedExpress will have seven neighborhood medical centers in the state, with plans to bring the same warm, welcoming health care approach to more communities, including Andover, Hilltop, and Lakeville, later this month.
