MedExpress Urgent Care announces the opening of its first neighborhood medical center in the state of Illinois. The new center will open in Swansea on May 18 and offer free school, camp and sport physicals as a welcoming gift to the community through June 1.

MedExpress is committed to providing high-quality, convenient and affordable medical treatment to the Swansea community. The new center will offer walk-in treatment for everyday illness and injury, including more advanced offerings such as X-rays, IVs, labs, minor surgery, stitches and treatment for broken bones, sprains and strains. The center will also offer a wide array of wellness and prevention services such as flu shots, immunizations and physicals to help patients maintain their overall health. Local employers can also utilize MedExpress for employer health services such as occupational medicine, workers’ compensation, pre-employment screening and employee injury care.

“MedExpress is excited to provide warm, welcoming, high-quality care to patients in Illinois,” said Linda Kline, MedExpress Area Manager for Illinois. “Illinois just seemed like a great fit for MedExpress. Our urgent care and employer health services can help patients and employers when there’s a timely illness or injury, and our wellness services can help patients to protect their overall health.”

MedExpress is staffed by a full medical team and is open 12 hours a day, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Most insurance is accepted, but not required. With no appointment needed, MedExpress provides a convenient option for unscheduled, time-sensitive care.

“MedExpress plays an important role in the health care of the community by providing medical care in a convenient and timely manner,” said Kline.

“We also take it a step further by working to coordinate care with other area health care providers such as primary care physicians, specialists and area hospitals to ensure patients receive the most appropriate follow-up care when needed.”
